Castell Spanish Espadrille, handmade leather and suede shoes. Our shoes are boat friendly, made with non-skid, non-skuff, natural leather soles. We use Spanish and Italian high quality leathers to create a casual and elegant mediterranean style shoe. Castell footwear began with the rustic avarca using traditional materials such as quality cowhide and tire rubber. Crafters always used soft, thick skins. The most important feature of traditional avarca Castell was that the sewing was done within a form, significantly increasing its support and durability. Castell shoes are still made by hand as they were over three decades ago on the island of Menorca, Spain.
